The Punisher

Based on the Marvel comic book, this action-adventure casts Jane as an ex-FBI agent who turns vigilante after the murder of his family at the hands of a crooked businessman (Travolta).

This rather standard B-movie vigilante revenge story is an excellent example of why the best comic-book adaptations involve actual superheroes with actual superpowers (i.e. those that can fly, spin webs, make things burn or freeze with their eyes etc...) It also helps when they have really good stories (see Spider Man), or really cool fight scenes (see Blade). Instead, The Punisher is more like Rambo with better reasons for killing all the bad guys:1. They brutally slaughtered his entire family2. The presence of the ever-annoying, hammed-up John Travolta. To banish all memory of the equally mediocre 1990 Dolph Lundgren version. The 2004 version of does admittedly possess remarkably higher production values, a decent action sequence or two, and some fantastically cheesy one-liners that almost make it a decent hangover movie. Until, that is, one realizes that the protagonist's credo/rationale for killing/punishment (not vengeance because that’s an emotional response) may have been co-opted by a certain administration...but, hell, just like the Punisher, we all know that certain types of bad guys require payback that’s a little bit beyond the law. Check the obituaries.

Leaving Metropolis

Two hot-bodied hunks dominate this Canadian gay drama about an artist who falls in love with a married "straight" guy.

This independent Canadian drama from Brad Fraser, the writer of Love and Human Remains focuses on David, a controversial gay painter in the remote Canadian province of Manitoba. His financial success has brought him fame, money and a dull life. He basically hangs out with Kryla, a straight woman and Shannon, an HIV positive trans woman who is also his roommate. To get some inspiration, he takes a job as a waiter at a small café run by a married couple, Matt and Violet. The last thing he expects to do is fall in love with Matt, but that's just what happens. David starts painting again -- homages to Matt, his new love wreaking havoc on the marriage and on David.
While Leaving Metropolis feels like an old-style "gay movie" -- poor writing and stilted characters, it does have something to recommend. There are several fairly intense sex scenes, both straight and gay and these two guys aren't shy about showing us their bodies. No full-frontal nude shots, but plenty of underwear and chest showing and these two boys have a lot to look at. After some research we learned that the film is based on Fraser's stage play Poor Super Man which had a whole different premise to it. The play emphasized David's personal feelings toward the comic book hero Superman and how he was just as perfect as his hero. Of course, what the play was showing was that no one is perfect. Unfortunately that storyline has been trimmed down in the film, rendering it unintelligible. Don't expect anything earth-shattering here, just a simple gay melodrama with some sweet skin.

Chris & Don - A Love Story

Director: Guido Santi, Tina Mascara

Subject: Christopher Isherwood, Don Bachardy

Here is the essential story of a love between creative geniuses Christopher Isherwood and Don Bachardy. Ripe with history and romance, Chris & Don resonates with the heart.

3 REASONS TO DOWNLOAD THIS FILM

Certainly one of the most moving gay documentaries ever

Christopher Isherwood was one of the pioneers of gay literature; this is his story.

A rare breed, Chris & Don is a romantic documentary film that reeks of love.

Before gay marriage was even dreamed of, portraitist Don Bachardy fell in love with author Christopher Isherwood. Their legendary relationship began on the beach at Malibu in 1956 and continued until Isherwood's death in 1986. Beautifully executed and movingly told, Chris & Don is one the greatest gay romances ever, and it's a documentary!
Writer Christopher Isherwood was born near Manchester, England in 1904. After college, he headed straight into a writing career. He moved to Berlin in 1929 to be with his friend W.H. Auden. Falling in love with the place and pretty boys he stayed there until the Nazis started to make things uncomfortable for gay men. His experiences in Berlin were later distilled into his "Berlin Stories" which was adapted for film as Cabaret. In 1939 Isherwood and Auden fled Germany and came to the U.S. They moved to California where they discovered Eastern religions and even more sexy boys. It was not until 1956 when this fabled gay love story begins. Brought to life by a multi-media treasure trove, the story of Chris & Don will grip you to the end. The film features lots of interview footage with Bachardy as well as archival footage, rare home movies (with glimpses of friends W.H. Auden, Igor Stravinsky and Tennessee Williams), reenactments, and, most sweetly, whimsical animations based on the cat-and-horse cartoons the pair used in their personal correspondence. Theirs is a love story that needs to be seen.

Coffee Date

What if your good-for-nothing brother set you up on a hot date and got the gender wrong…or did he? Todd (Jonathan Bray), a straight guy, goes to work every day and then comes home with nary a date on the horizon. That is, until his goofy brother, Barry (Jonathan Silverman), sets him up on his very first internet get-together, a coffee date with a hottie named Kelly. Todd gets to the café and the only unattached person there is a gay guy...guess what: his name is Kelly (Wilson Cruz of "My So-Called Life" and "Noah's Arc"). After a brief, clumsy realization that a straight guy has been set up with a gay guy, the two men hit it off as friends. To get retaliation against his brother, Todd and Kelly head back to the house and hold hands in front of the mystified brother. Their joke works as Barry summons Mom (Sally Kirkland) in for the new family crisis. Mom decides that she loves her gay son and joins PFLAG. Most amused is Todd's gay co-worker Clayton (out comedian/actor Jason Stuart) who's fianlly got his evidence that Todd is officially gay. As word spreads that he is "openly gay" and has a nice gay lover, the situation spins hilariously out of control and nothing Todd says can convince people otherwise. Yet he prefers his new best friend Kelly's company; maybe he is gay after all?

Naked Fame

Facing forty, porn star Colton Ford decides to leave the industry and return to his true calling — a singing career. He’s definitely got the voice, but will his "overexposed" past be the hook that gets him noticed or the hook that yanks him off stage? Naked Fame follows Colton and his loving life-partner, the porn mega-star Blake Harper, as they try to ease their way back into the mainstream. There’s plenty of salacious "life of a porn star" footage and terrific interviews with Chi Chi LaRue, Bruce Vilanch, dance club divas like Pepper Mashay and Lonnie Gordon, and the two most supportive parents you’ll ever meet. But underlying it all is a harrowing Faustian tale of Colton turning his career — and his soul — over to a sleazy ex-porn star/pseudo-record producer who uses them to feed his insatiable ego. Watching Colton, with Blake’s teeth-baring help, escape from this muscle-bound Mephistopheles is the most satisfying part of this captivating documentary. Ultimately, Naked Fame is a story about a man who loves his art and loves his mate, and does the best he can to honor them both. And really, who can’t relate to that?

Slumdog Millionaire

Wow! What a GREAT Film! Most movies I can't sit all the way through, but this one is captivating. Not a dull moment anywhere, and never know what will happen in the next moment. Definately a keeper! C.

Cast: Dev Patel, Freida Pinto, Madhur Mitchell, Anil Kapoor, Irrfan Khan

A poor boy finds himself climbing the ladder of India's "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire." But when the taping of the show ends, he's accused of cheating, because he couldn't possibly be that smart... could he? He's not there for the money anyway; he's there to prove himself in the eyes of a friend who watches the show religiously. Everyone seems to love this film!

Fight Club

A smart and sexy adrenaline rush, the subversive Fight Club bids farewell to the old millennium and greets the new as it tears apart the mores and morals of the great, late 20th century. Seven director Fincher brings the same kind of gut-level tension that distinguished that film to this nihilistic tale of white, disenfranchised blue-collar men who find emotional release in nightly bareknuckle fighting -- but only in the form of a vibrant, hyperventilating black comedy. Norton is the Narrator, an angst-ridden businessman whose life dramatically changes when he meets the mysterious Tyler Durden (Pitt). Together they start Fight Club, a movement that catches on like wildfire. Violent and vibrant, the film is a ravaging attack on consumerism and a bloody exercise in machismo, as members beat each other senseless in superbly choreographed fight scenes. But this is a film where not everything is as it appears, and Fincher takes delight in confounding and provoking. Norton and Pitt are excellent, each submerging themselves into their roles with bravado and verve.

FAVORITE LINE "The first rule of Fight Club is - you do not talk about Fight Club. The second rule of Fight Club is - you do not talk about Fight Club." -- Brad Pitt as Tyler Durden.

Love Life

Artfully told, Damion Dietz’s first drama is the erotic story of a married couple where both the husband and wife have outside gay relationships.

Crisply told and packing an emotional punch, Damion Dietz's latest film tells the story of a couple in an unhappy marriage of convenience. Joe was a pro-baseball player with a hankering for men, but needed a beard. His lesbian wife Mary needed a husband to access a trust fund – they had a match made in heaven. With equal time given to both the male/male and female/female relationships, Love Life is a most unusual and captivating film. Everything is hunky-dory with their arrangement. Joe hooks up with a man in a car, apparently one in a long run of casual encounters. The less complicated the sex, the happier Joe is. He needs to hide in his closet. Mary gets a visit from her college roommate who turns out to also be a former lover. Joe and Mary’s relationship only becomes compromised when Joe and his landscaper land up in bed together while Mary ends up with her college girlfriend. What’s next for this not-so-happy queerly married couple?

Phoenix

Raw, emotional and yet polished, Michael Aker's new film soars in the gay indie world. With a limited budget micro-indie filmmakers must depend on great writing and acting to tell their story, no CGI or special effects. And that's just what filmmakers/partners Sandon Berg and Michael Akers have done with Phoenix. Be prepared to spend 96 minutes glued to the screen watching this story unfold.
Naïve Dylan Wells (Chad Edward Bartley) has a good job, a great apartment but something seems wrong in his relationship with his boyfriend Ken Sparks (Gaetano Jones). Ken always seems to be traveling when it's time to meet Dylan's friends. Dylan accepts this part-time relationship until his 23rd birthday when, after an argument, Ken takes off early in the morning and vanishes. Dylan follows Ken’s trail to Phoenix, where he discovers that his lover has another lover, the sexy, earthy Demetrius Stone (Jeff Castle). Dylan and Demetrius are forced together to discover what happened to Ken and what happened to their relationships with him. While figuring out what happened and what went wrong these two guys do what gay guys seem to have a penchant for, they jump in bed. Their sex is hot, passionate and healing.
Music lovers will enjoy the film as it has a sweet original score and songs from new gay artists Vertigo Road, Garrin Benfield, Stephen McCarthy, Phil Dutra and gay-friendly Jared Young and The Waxfire.
Inspired by the Antonioni classic L’Avventura, Phoenix is a terrific addition to the gay film world. A huge leap forward for this filmmaking couple, we already can't wait to see their next effort!

When Candace ends up in jail, Madea befriends the young woman, protecting her in a "motherly" way as only Madea can.

Madea goes to Jail (Theatre Play)

Madea returns in another hilarious story in which she gets sent to the big house. But regardless of the circumstances, she gives her trademark advice and wisdom to her friends and family as they learn the importance of letting go, moving on, and forgiveness.

Lust in the Dust

From the warped mind of gay director Bartel is this quite funny and uproariously vulgar comedy/spoof. Set in a gold-rush western town, the story revolves around a gold map, printed on the cheeks of floosies Divine and Lainie Kazan. Also featuring Tab Hunter.

Noah's Arc: Jumping the Broom

The popular Logo series about the lives and loves of four gay African American men gets the feature film treatment with this road movie that finds longtime friends Noah, Alex, Ricky, and Chance traveling to Martha's Vineyard with their significant others for a weekend wedding retreat. Aspiring Los Angeles screenwriter Noah (Darryl Stephens) and his partner Wade (Jensen Atwood) are about to be married in an intimate Martha's Vineyard ceremony, and to celebrate in style Noah has invited Alex (Rodney Chester), Ricky (Christian Vincent) and Chance (Douglas Spearman) to join the couple on a cross-country road trip from California to Massachusetts. But the trip is far from the relaxing getaway that Noah had hoped for, because along the way secrets are revealed, hearts are bruised, and friendships are put to the ultimate test. Not only is Chance and Eddie beginning to feel the urge to scratch their seven year itch, but playboy Ricky has a secret that's sure to rock everyone's world, and the appearance of a surprise visitor quickly threatens to overshadow the main event. Add a closeted rapper and a high-maintenance studio executive into the mix, and you've got the recipe for an endearing romantic comedy that's as poignant as it is hilarious.

Adam & Steve

Queer bon vivant Craig Chester makes his directorial debut with this raucous and candy-colored romantic comedy about the pitfalls of falling in love in New York City. Flashback to 1987 at the Limelight disco, where shoulder pads and acid-washed jeans reign supreme. Goth guy Adam (Chester) with his obese gal pal Rhonda (a hilarious Parker Posey) meet Steve (Malcolm Gets), a glam rock dancer. Instantly attracted to each other, Adam takes Steve home but after several bumps of coke laced with baby laxatives, their date comes to a comically explosive end.
Fast forward to 2005 and as mischievous fate would have it, Adam and Steve encounter each other again, blissfully unaware that they had previously met. (The evolution of fashion can do wonders!) As the two men begin courting each other with the support of the newly svelte Rhonda and Steve's straight roommate (Chris Kattan of "Saturday Night Live") little clues begin to pop up that maybe Adam and Steve might have initially met under less than perfect circumstances.
Chester and Gets, both openly gay actors, provide an authentic and appealing spin to the "boy meets boy" film genre in queer cinema. Supported by a strong cast (Posey and Kattan shine as opposites who could fall for each other), fantastic appearances from Julie Hagerty, Sally Kirkland and Jackie Beat, and a toe-tapping country western musical number, Adam & Steve delivers laugh-out-loud sight gags and witty one-liners - yet it also has just the right amount of heart to touch the romantic in all of us.

FINALLY, I'VE FOUND A COPY 'WITH' ENGLISH SUBTITLES!!!! ENJOY
You will need to download the .srt file in order for Subtitles to work. .srt file is now included in Rapidshare and Sendspace folder. Also, .srt file has to be in same folder as movie in order for subtitles to work.
German sex comedy about a straight womanizer and his tres-gay roommate.
This slick sex comedy follows the frenzied antics of Axel, a hunky, womanizing young man who, after burning all of his heterosexual bridges, moves in with Norbert, a gay man who quickly falls in (one-sided) love with his new roomie. The comedy rests on the confusion Axel creates by his friendship with Norbert and his gay friends - a perplexing situation for Axel's still interested girlfriend.
Funny and fast-moving, the gay characters are not the best drawn, but if one lower's their PC shield, it will prove to be quite enjoyable.

Save Me

When Mark (Chad Allen) - a young gay man addicted to sex and drugs - hits bottom, his concerned brother checks him into a Christian retreat in the New Mexico desert. Run by a compassionate husband and wife team, Gayle (Judith Light) and Ted have made it their life's mission to cure young men of their 'gay affliction' through spiritual guidance. But after Mark bonds with fellow resident Scott (Robert Gant) and their relationship evolves, they are forced to confront their true selves. Featuring powerful performances from Chad Allen, Robert Gant and Judith Light, this acclaimed drama is a subtly nuanced and deeply sympathetic look at both sides of one of the most polarizing religious and sexual debates in America: the conflict - and possible reconciliation - between homosexuality and Christianity.

Girls Will Be Girls

A rude, wicked, hilarious and outrageous tale of three woman (who happen to be played by men) and their collective and personal trials and tribulations within and without the Hollywood machine. Coco (Clinton Leupp - of the famous cum in the eye line in Trick) has dreams of reconnecting with the dreamy doctor that performed her first and second abortions. She's the constant recipient of verbal pummeling by her very evil, very drunk and very horny roommate Evie (Jack Plotnick of the amazing short Evie Harris, Shining Star), a delusional over-the-hill actress who will do just about anything to get back in the biz. And then there is the ravenous Varla (Jeffery Roberson aka Varla Jean Merman) who follows suit with unlikely aspirations and demons of her own. Girls will Be Girls was written and directed by Richard Day, one of the lead writers for the superb satire "The Larry Sanders Show."Girls will be Girls combines razor-sharp wit with major diva performances to produce what will surely become a queer cult classic. Every detail from the costumes and sets to the music seemed geared towards visual pleasures that only gay men may understand. Invite over a few friends, bake some brownies (or pop the corn) and be prepared for some major belly laughs.

Kiss the Bride

C. Jay Cox (Latter Days) is back with this deliciously sexy treat and guess who's back? The gorgeous Steve Sandvoss (Aaron in Latter Days) co-stars as a goofy sort-of straight guy. Matt (Karner) and Ryan (O'Shea) were best friends in high school, actually they were more than best friends, they were lovers. Matt moved out of town for college and the two buddies lost touch until 10 years later when Matt got Ryan's wedding invitation. Matt has held a fierce long-distance torch for Ryan. For the past 10 years, he’s rejected every man as unsuitable in the shadow of what he once had with Ryan. Life in L.A. was missing something for the very out Matt. Quite surprised about the invite, Matt attends the wedding with every intention of splitting up the happy couple and reclaiming Ryan for himself. That all changes when Matt meets Alex (the always wacky Tori Spelling) and he loves the bride-to-be! They bond in moments, go shopping together and the gossip begins to flow between these two new best buddies. Meanwhile Matt tries to re-kindle the spark with his beloved, but is it still there? The more he hangs out in his old town he sees how much he's missed small-town life and his high school friends and family. As the wedding day approaches rapidly, secrets are revealed and old feelings resurface.
Funny and smart, Kiss the Bride treats the issues of love, identity and sexuality the C. Jay Cox way, with a rare intelligence that recalls his now-classic Latter Days. Fans won’t want to miss this comic treat.

Three Dancing Slaves

Cast: Stéphane Rideau, Nicolas Cazalé, Thomas Dumerchez, Salim Kechiouche

The newest film from openly gay, director-writer-actor Gaël Morel (director of Full Speed, actor in Wild Reeds) Three Dancing Slaves is filled with hope amidst a violent and unpredictable world.
Told in three chapters, the film follows the lives of three handsome brothers. Lonely 22-year-old Marc idolizes his older brother Christophe, who has just been released from prison. However, Christophe's desire to lead a quiet new life is disrupted when he must become Marc's protector from a band of sadistic toughs who relish taunting the sensitive, younger sibling. The third brother, 17-year-old Olivier, doesn't even relate to anyone from his family - he has chosen to form a strong bond with Hicham, his best friend and "surrogate" brother. When a tragic event occurs, all three brothers' fragile identities and familial loyalties are put to the test, and each sibling must discover which course in life he will choose.
Visually, the film makes no qualms about idolizing the physical beauty of the brothers (the scene where all the brothers are innocently sleeping naked with each other is a stunner!) but Three Dancing Slaves also offers an intimate glimpse into the ways men communicate under extreme circumstances. (French with English subtitles)

Days

Claudio (Trabacchi) is a handsome, anal-compulsive, Italian banker whose life has always been one of routine. HIV-positive, he takes his daily medications, goes to the gym, checks up on his sister (Rametta), and prepares to move to Milan with his boyfriend Dario (Bechini). Always one to keep everything under control, Claudio's life changes dramatically when he connects with the irresistible Andrea (Salerno), a gorgeous blonde waiter. Claudio's memory of his previous encounter with Andrea is so potent it "stayed inside of him for days."
As these two men begin a hot and heavy affair, filled with passionate kissing and unsafe sex, Andrea admits that he has little concern about Claudio's HIV status. This unrestricted love liberates the cautious Claudio, and soon he forsakes his job, his relationship with Dario, and his meds for the new life Andrea offers him -- one that exists without fear.
Director Laura Muscardin has crafted a heartfelt and affecting character study, and she has coaxed a remarkable performance from Trabacchi. Days is an absorbing, uplifting drama about the vulnerability of life and the incredible power of love. (Italian with English subtitles)
