With equal time given to both the male/male and female/female relationships, Love Life is a most unusual and captivating film. Everything is hunky-dory with their arrangement. Joe hooks up with a man in a car, apparently one in a long run of casual encounters. The less complicated the sex, the happier Joe is. He needs to hide in his closet. Mary gets a visit from her college roommate who turns out to also be a former lover. Joe and Mary’s relationship only becomes compromised when Joe and his landscaper land up in bed together while Mary ends up with her college girlfriend.
