Eating Out 2

Boasting a cast of hunks and a witty script from Q. Allan Brocka (Eating Out and Boy Culture) and Phillip J. Bartell, Eating Out 2 is packed with more sexy, irreverent fun for all you guys who love the first edition. Returning to head up the cast are gay "American Idol" finalist Jim Verraros as Kyle and Emily Brooke Hands as Gwen, the ultimate fag hag. New to the cast, along with an array of studs, is John Waters veteran Mink Stole in a hilarious turn as Kyle's mom, Helen. When Kyle and Marc (Brett Chuckerman) have a breakup that doesn't quite feel final, Marc goes off in search of other prey while Gwen, Kyle and Tiffany (Rebekah Kochan, also back from Eating Out) head to art class, where today Troy (Marco Dapper) will model nude. As the trio lusts after Troy, they can't quite figure out who he likes: boys or girls? Troy and Kyle leave class together and head off across campus where they bump into Jacob (Scott Vickaryous) and his ex-gay group, "Coming In". Kyle, who is ultra-gay without a butch bone in his body, decides to pretend he's an ex-gay to see if he can get into mixed-up Troy's pants. There's lots of room for comic craziness as the charade heats up.Funnier and wackier than the first edition, we think Sloppy Seconds is hysterical. The film is a total farce, without any intent to educate or illuminate any serious topics, and for this, we love it. And by the way there is plenty of male nudity – it seems like it's almost all the boys – except Jim Verraros. Have a laugh and enjoy this completely frivolous film.

Latter Days

Match a hunky repressed Mormon missionary with an LA party boy, sensual sex and knowing humor, and the result is a film you won't soon forget. Christian (Wesley A. Ramsey) is a handsome, vapid young man who flits from guy to guy without much of a thought in his pretty little head. All his co-workers at Lila's restaurant expect only the latest bedroom report from him. So when his roommate Julie (Rebekah Jordan) discovers that the gorgeous group of young men who moved in next door are Mormon missionaries, they take a bet on whether Christian can bed one of them. Christian quickly moves in for the kill, identifying Elder Aaron Davis (Steve Sandvoss) as a repressed homo - and quite a sexy one at that. Their initial encounters have a charged sexual tension, but fear of the devil keeps Aaron’s libido at bay. When the two find themselves alone together they kiss passionately. Aaron’s Mormon missionary roommates interrupt, spot their brother as a homo and send him back in shame to his Idaho hometown and embarrassed parents.We can't tell you what happens next because we’re not going to ruin this romantic drama for you, but C. Jay Cox is a Hollywood screenwriter with all that entails. His work on Sweet Home Alabama which included a great gay character, brought kudos, but this is clearly his project of love. The incredibly handsome and charismatic Sandvoss, in his debut film, gives us fierce non-verbal emotion that few actors can match - watch this boy's career. All of the acting is first-rate, including Amber Benson as Christian’s co-worker, Mary Kay Place as Aaron’s stern mother and Jacqueline Bisset as Christian’s restaurant boss who harbors her own secrets. It’s a grand gay screen romance with large-scale emotions that belongs in everyone's collection.

Zach is holding down a diner job, riding the waves and frequently watching out for his young charge. Zach's buddy Gabe (Thomas) has some big news, his big brother Shaun (Rowe) has come home from L.A. While it's no secret that Shaun is gay, no one knows that Zach has a major crush on the thirtysomething man. He's read his novels and longed to experience man love with his best bud's older brother. While it takes a half hour till their first kiss, it's well worth the wait! There are so many obstacles to their romance; the kid nephew, Zach's closet mentality, and Shaun's desire to move back to L.A.Coming from Here! the folks who bring us the torrid "Dante's Cove," Shelter is a gentler tale. This is a film filled with superlative writing, first-class acting and some sweet tender gay moments.

Get Real





One of the breakaway gay hits of 1999, Get Real is a sharply observed coming-of-age story infused with charm, humor, emotion and a knowing sense of the difficulties of being a gay teen. Steven (Ben Silverstone) is a thin, pale-skinned, dark-haired 16-year-old living in the new British suburbia with his upper-middle class parents. Despite his youth, Steven knows that he is gay (since 11) and, although not open, experiments with sexuality at the local park men's room! Life changes for the soft-spoken teen when he locks eyes on the school's strappingly handsome super-jock John (Brad Gorton). The two are attracted to each other, but John's self-hating fears of others finding out about his sexuality threatens to tear apart their tentative relationship. There are several interesting supporting characters, including Charlotte Brittain as Steve's best friend and next-door-neighbor. Silverstone brings a wonderfully realistic and tender take on the teen who is not ashamed of being gay. There are some failings in this mainly winning story -- the plot is too similar to Beautiful Thing, there are some unnecessary melodramatic excesses, having an over-weight female friend for comic relief is tired, the finale is clichéd and the film's look has a slickness that makes it less like and independent British film and more like a John Hughes flick of the '80s. But complaints aside, this tale should charm and captivate any audience familiar with feelings of being different and an outsider. The screenplay is by Patrick Wilde which is in turn based on his play, "What's Wrong with Angry?"

Nigel Finch's (Lost Language of Cranes) final film is a dramatization of the days leading up to and after the Stonewall Rebellion in June 1969. It's a sexy, funny, entertaining and enlightening film.REVIEWThis rollicking musical love story is a fictionalized account of the people involved in the 1969 Stonewall Riots and while historical in setting, should not be thought of as documentary truth, but rather a what-might-have-been-happening on the days before that fateful summer night. Matty Dean (Weller), a studly country boy comes to New York City, comes out, falls in love with a La Miranda (Diaz), a saucy drag queen, hangs out with a rambunctious group of black, white and Latino misfits and then becomes politicalized in the process. This is Nigel Finch's (The Lost Language of Cranes) last film; he died of AIDS before the film was released. A dazzling and quite memorable story of what life was like for queers before the riots and the riots themselves.La Miranda (the late Sylvia Rivera in real life) says -"This my legend, honey, OK? 2 Minutes Later





2 Minutes Later is a thrilling, sexy and often sharply funny noir-ish thriller. It begins literally with a bang as handsome photographer Michael (Michael Molina) is being chased through dark rural woods by a determined, gun-toting stranger. One of the bullets hits its mark and flash forward two weeks later as Kyle, Michael's twin brother, arrives in town to get to the bottom of his brother's recent disappearance. And he quickly finds, when mistaken for his brother, that his brother was a far from liked figure. Enter Abigail (Jessica Graham), a private investigator who already knows a thing or two about Michael: he's a jerk. And may have been murdered. As the pair investigate Michael's recent goings-on and rather lurid, Mapplethorpe-ian work -- "I need a shower," Abigail quips after sifting through his portfolio -- it's clear that motive is in no short supply. Many local men have been humiliated, disgraced and angered during Michael's abusive photo sessions and many personal relations. But when that determined stranger with the gun believes "Michael" is alive and well, he sets his sights on Abigail and Kyle. Director Gaston adds decidedly modern twists to the hard-boiled film noir template – openly queer protagonists, tartly contemporary dialogue, full-frontal nudity and intense eroticism – while delivering taut action and memorable performances. Think a queer The Thin Man as the witty repartee flies between the sassy and sultry Graham and the hunky Molina. All that's missing are a few stiff drinks – that's on you.

Shortbus


Stunningly moving and surprisingly funny, this radically explicit exploration of sexuality and relationships is one of the best films of the year. We're fairly certain there will be no Oscar® nominations for Shortbus with its non-simulated scenes of self-gratification, oral, anal and vaginal fucking between men and men, men and women and women and women – all portrayed quite naturally. While mall Cineplex audiences might be horrified, we know our customers will be chomping at the bit to own this film in their collections. The film opens with a hottie giving himself head, and the scene comes complete with a full messy load on his eager face! John Cameron Mitchell follows up on his masterpiece Hedwig and the Angry Inch with another film that's guaranteed to stick in your memory for years.The story, loose as it may be, is centered around two couples, one straight and one gay. Sofia and Rob live on the Manhattan's Upper East Side. She's a sex therapist; he's lost in career limbo. We are shown them having rip-roaring sex, and only later learn that Sophia has never had an orgasm. James and Jaime love each other intently but James is depressed and they are considering opening their relationship. They see Sophia with their desires. Sophia spills the beans about orgasm-free life. The boys turn Sophia on to a club in Brooklyn, Shortbus. Held each weekend the club has several environments: a music room (the performances were captured live for the film); a women's discussion room; a social room where all are invited; and an orgy room the likes of which we haven't seen since the '70s. It is here at Shortbus that life-changing drama ensues for all the participants in this cinematic treat. Sex is merely the catalyst for change and the engine that powers the club.We would be remiss if we didn't get into the nitty-gritty of the sex, it's a major part of the film, and we know you want to hear about it. The gorgeous James (Dawson) sucks himself to a splattering climax. Sophia and Rob have an intense sexual session with positions we've never seen before. James and Jamie have a threesome with Ceth (Brannan) that blew our minds, while the boys blew their wads, on screen. The boys have a sort-of stalker Caleb (Stickles) who gets to fuck James with abandon. And then there's the orgy room with all it's wicked delights. The men in the film appear to have been cast with three criteria – cuteness, massive dick size and acting skills. You will not be disappointed with the nudity and sex in this special film.We've used sex to sell you this movie, but it's got lots more than that. There are life lessons, great music from Yo La Tengo, hysterical jokes, a wry Mayor Koch impersonation and mysterious blackouts. Without question, we think this one belongs in your collection.

One of best gay movies of 2000 - an intense thriller - a journey of one gay man's self-discoveryAn excitingly ambitious and original style of gay filmmaking is in evidence with Urbania, a feverish tale of one young man’s search for sanity, retribution and love. In the urban jungle of nocturnal New York, Charlie (Futterman), traumatized by the violent gay bashing of his lover Chris (Keeslar) by a darkly sexy thug, has become a lost soul. He wanders the city in wide-eyed confusion, a lonely man with both pent-up anger and sexual desire bubbling within him. With memories invading his mind, Charlie hits the streets visiting an old friend (Cumming), having a quick but screwed-up sexual encounter, and meeting a variety of strange storied characters. But he remains steadfast in his search for the man who ended his "happiness". The intricately structured film builds to intensity as Charlie finds, befriends and is forced to decide the fate of the man he lusts and loathes. A taut, emotional and surreal story of homophobia, loss and love adapted from Daniel Reitz’s play, "Urban Folk Tales." The acting is excellent but Futterman, who looks like he could be the son of Ben Gazzara, is simply mesmerizing as the vengeful gay man on a mission in this haunting After Hours for the homo set.

What begins as a pleasant reunion of five childhood friends at a remote lakeside lodge soon escalates into a weekend of tense emotions, sexual hijinks and subtle but effective revenge. Poor Megan (Lyonne); she may be a pretty high schooler, model student and cheerleader who's dating the captain of the football team, but her loving parents think otherwise. You see, she's a vegetarian, she doesn't like kissing her boyfriend and one can't ignore those Melissa Etheridge records. Afraid that their daughter will fall in with the dark forces of same-sex love, she is quickly carted off to "True Directions", a scarily cheerful five-step de-homofication rehab camp. There she finds herself joined by a group of butch baby dykes, lipstick lesbians and several queeny gay boys. Sapphic sparks fly when Megan locks eyes with Graham (DuVall), a tomboy beauty with no intention of going straight. A delightful John Waters-inspired free-for-all satire.

Sex and the City comes to the big screen in a feature film adaptation of the hit HBO television series. The film follows the continuing adventures of the series four main characters - Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda - as they live their lives in Manhattan four years after the series ended. Stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon are all on board to reprise their roles, and the film is written and directed by Michael Patrick King, who executive produced the original television series.Additionally, Chris Noth, David Eigenberg, Evan Handler and Jason Lewis return as the women's love interests. Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Hudson (Dreamgirls) has also joined the cast and plays Carrie Bradshaw's assistant, a new character to be introduced in the film.

But it seems that this idyll is about to end as Jake is set to move with his dad to the big city. Fast forward 18 years and Jake is now a movie producer with an over-stressed, loveless existence. After a particularly harsh panic attack, Jake’s best friend urges him to take a break and vacation for the first time in years. It’s back to Arizona where, just maybe, Kyle’s still living. The two now-grown men reconnect and the spark is still there. Kyle is in the closet with his gay desires, but all of his feelings spill to the surface as he and his old friend get to know each other better. With a micro-budget and a nice story to tell, Jeff London’s film will appeal to all of you closet romantics.

All that changes when he hears the cries of an anguished man in the mountains. Drew scoops Mark Reeves in his arms and rushes him to hospital. Other than a few scrapes, Mark has amnesia. Without memory of who he is--or supposed to be--Drew befriends him and takes him home to his rustic cabin.The sexual spark between the two guys is palpable from the beginning. The Houseboy



With the opening frames of this film by Spencer Lee Schilly (Summer Thunder) you might be lulled into thinking that it's yet another gay romance with pretty boy actors. Rest assured this feeling will pass as The Houseboy is filled with sexy surprises and revelations. In his early twenties, Ricky (Nick May) is the third wheel in a relationship with two hotties in their thirties. While Ricky is supposedly out of hearing range, one lover promises the other "a new toy for Christmas" and then they’re out the door for a Christmas vacation. A very hurt Ricky is left to take care of their apartment and menagerie of pets. With a vengeance, Ricky goes on a search for love using internet hookups and guys he meets on the street. Shockingly, he tells several of his “guests” that he's planning to commit suicide on Christmas. The tricks are mostly taken aback and respond uncomfortably with this stranger who has suddenly become quite intimate. Will his "lovers" come home to a nasty surprise, or will Ricky find the love he so needs over the holidays?Using his own apartment as a set and with a micro-budget, Spencer Lee Schilly has crafted a small gem with The Houseboy. Newcomer Nick May is extraordinarily human in this challenging role. Disarmingly cute, he brings layers and depth to his character. There's sex galore and some very hot guys appear naked. Always surprising, very real and overflowing with emotion and heart, The Houseboy is a must-see gem.

Our favorite film of 2008, Gus Van Sant's best effort to date and containing what is possibly Sean Penn's best performance ever, Milk is entertaining, illuminating and riveting from the first frame to the last. I am 52 years old and know the story of Harvey Milk quite well. I remember Dianne Fienstein's choked-up announcement of his assassination. I remember the dark night after the trial. None of this meant anything as I sat in the dark theater and watched Dan White (Josh Brolin) crawl in through the basement window and my heartbeat raced. I wept several times, laughed frequently and joined in the cheers as the film ended. Gus Van Sant's has created cinematic magic with Milk.The story begins with Harvey Milk in 1972 (Sean Penn) as a closeted insurance salesman picking up a trick in the NYC subway. That trick was Scott Smith (James Franco), a hippie boy instantly charmed by the Jewish closet-case, who urged him to create a new life for the two of them. Off they went to San Francisco to change the world, and have fun on the way. Harvey opened a camera store on the still-straight Castro St which soon became a drop-in center for gay boys helping to create what became a gay mecca. Inspired to make change Harvey and his buddies launch a politically-naive first campaign for the SF Board of Supervisors. Harvey had a pony-tail and populist stump speech. He came very close for a first-timer. The buddies became a campaign organization that launched two more runs for the Board of Supervisors and a run for the California State Assembly. With all this politicing Harvey's relationship with Scott crumbled and he was left to his own devices. Harvey met and nurtured a young politico Cleve Jones (Emile Hirsch) who went on to found the AIDS Quilt organization. The characters include Dennis (Olyphant), a promising photographer, his housemate Cole (Dean Cain of TV’s Superman), a charming man-stealing actor; Benji (Zach Braff), a punkish gym bunny fancier; analytical grad student Howie (Matt McGrath, Lonny in Boys Don’t Cry); cynical quipster Patrick (Weber) and his lesbian sister whose lover (Long) wants his sperm; and Taylor (Porter) whose long-term relationship goes on the rocks. They all hang out at a restaurant run by the group’s unofficial patriarch, Jack (John Mahoney of Frasier) and play together on a softball team coached by Jack (a part-time drag performer). Drama abounds, especially when Cole seduces and abandons the fragile, just-out-of-the-closet Kevin (Keegan) leaving Dennis to help pick up Kevin’s emotional pieces. Mambo Italiano



Take a visit to Montreal's "Little Italy" in this hysterical comedy about two closeted gay guys and their "old world" families. Maria and Gino (Paul Sorvino with badly dyed hair) moved from Italy to Montreal in the 50s and they still haven't adjusted to the new world. When their curly-haired, totally cute son Angelo (Kirby) decides to move out they ask "What is so wrong with living with your parents until you get married?" Angelo looked down the block at an older single gentleman who still gets slapped by his mother and he decided enough was enough. When Angelo's apartment is robbed, his old childhood friend Nino (who has since become a major stud) arrives as the cop on the scene. The two old buddies go on a camping trip to re-ignite their friendship and two sleeping bags become one. The two guys quickly set up house together, but Nino has one condition - that no one know that they are lovers. When the news inevitably leaks all hell breaks in Italian-family style with plenty of shouting and laughs. When the dust settles, Nino has left Angelo alone and has started seriously dating a woman. We don't want to ruin the ending, but have no fear - it's gay positive.
Mambo Italiano is lots of fun - there are plenty of laughs. High production values, excellent acting, funny script and seriously cute stars make this a wonderful, yet sexless piece of fluff.

Donna Deitch's (Desert Hearts) entertaining and informative new film was made to show how straight and gay America have interacted with each other for the past 50 years; how we've changed, and how much further we have to go.The first segment, "A Friend of Dorothy" by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright, Paula Vogel, is set in an America, fresh from WWII in the early '50's. Joe McCarthy was railing against Communists in the State Department and the Navy was ridding itself of undesirables, like our heroine, Dorothy (Murphy) and her adorable gay buddy Billy (Priestley). Dorothy wasn't sure if she even was a lesbian, but the gay bar she was in sure seemed like home! After her dishonorable discharge she went to a less friendly home in Homer, Conn. As news of her sexual deviancy spread around town, the only warm face was that of closeted lesbian Mrs. Nelson who gave her some money and sent her down to Greenwich Village.Tony Award-winning playwright Terence McNally's piece "Mr. Roberts" is set in a country rife with an anti-war movement and a people who are beginning to question some of the dominant paradigms, including homophobia. Monsieur Robert (Weber) is a closeted French teacher at Homer High School, and his prize student, Toby (Thomas) is dealing with issues of coming out and being attacked at school for his sexuality. At the risk of ruining his career Roberts decides to help his young student; he comes out in the classroom and we are in a new era.The third play is Tony Award-winning Harvey Fierstein's "Amos and Andy" about two upwardly mobile gay men who decide to get married, much to the chagrin of Andy's dad Ira (Asner). Ira raises a fuss in Homer and all the bigots come out to protest, looking foolish as the groom's dad walks down the aisle with his son anyway. Andy asks "…is this equality?" leaving room to examine what the next steps are in the gay and lesbian civil rights battle.A worthy film filled with education for people who need it, and entertainment for all others.

With that in mind, some of you are not aware that these movies have been split in order to be uploaded, which means that the movies must be JOINED in order to view the entire movie. Here's the link that you'll need in order to download the 'joiner' HJ Split.
